A Heart That Serves: Miladay’s Commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness

Every October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month educates us with the importance of early detection, patient education and honor those who have fought or are fighting for the disease. For Miladay, however, this advocacy is more than a yearly observance. It is deeply rooted with the Dayrit Family’s own experience with cancer, inspiring the company to continue to give back.

Both Mama Mila and Papa Ting—the founders of Miladay and the beloved parents of the second generation jewelers—passed away from cancer, just 20 days apart. Years later, in 2007, President Michelle Dayrit-Soliven was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, followed by breast cancer in 2012.

This experience brought Michelle to Carewell Community Foundation, Inc., where she found information, guidance, comfort, and understanding through the support of people who knew and understood the journey she was facing. With the care and strength of her family, friends and community, she was able to overcome both diagnoses.

In gratitude for her recovery, the Dayrit Family continued to support the foundation that had been there for Michelle. This commitment eventually became part of Miladay’s own tradition during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the brand creating a special Pink Sapphire Collection every October, dedicating its proceeds to support programs and advocacies that promote cancer awareness, patient education and compassionate care.

Jewelry with a Purpose

For this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a portion of the total sales from all pink, red and heart-shaped pieces sold at any Miladay store and online will be donated to ICanServe Foundation, continuing the family’s commitment to supporting women and families affected by cancer.

Through every purchase, our Miladay family can take part in supporting an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those facing breast cancer.

ICanServe Foundation promotes breast cancer awareness by advocating for early detection, patient education, and care for women across the country. Their work reminds us that awareness is only the beginning—that knowledge, timely action, support, and compassion can make a meaningful difference in a person’s journey.

For Michelle and the whole Dayrit Family, supporting the cause is a way of paying forward the care, guidance, and hope that helped them through their own experience.

For Miladay, it is a continuation of a belief that has always been close to our hearts: that we are not only here to create pieces, but also to use what we create to serve a purpose greater than ourselves.

This October, our hearts are once again with every woman and family whose lives have been touched by cancer. May every red, pink, and heart-shaped piece serve as a reminder that hope can be shared, strength can be found in one another, and no one has to walk the journey alone.

From October 1-31, 2026, every purchase of any red, pink or heart-shaped piece helps support the ICanServe Foundation and their efforts to advance breast cancer awareness and advocacy.
