Carewell and Miladay: A Joint Mission to Heal
When I was diagnosed with cancer, my family was filled with fear, uncertainty, and so many questions. But their fear turned into hope the moment we walked through the doors of Carewell. My treatment turned out into a most joyful journey because it began in Carewell.
I am blessed to be born into a loving family whom God provided with lovable friends. Robert Suntay of Carewell is one of them. He welcomed me, my 4 siblings, hubby and son into the Carewell Community with open arms. He organized a meeting with a team who tenderly pointed us in the right direction, gently guiding us through my treatment options.
They gave great advice and reassurance that I would be okay. That first meeting with Carewell was the very first step to my journey to wellness. The love, support and encouragement I received from the Carewell family was priceless. I truly believe that the support I found there was a major part of my healing. Their community gave me the strength to face each day with hope, not fear.
This is why partnering with Carewell means the world to me. And this Breast Cancer Awareness month, we invite you to join us in making a difference. With our White Sale, every piece of jewelry you purchase this month brings more than beauty—it brings hope to someone facing their own battle with cancer.
About Carewell:
The Cancer Resource and Wellness (Carewell) Community is a nonprofit organization that provides holistic support to people with cancer and their loved ones. Founded in 2005 by Bobbit (Robert) and the late Jackie Fernandez-Suntay, Carewell was inspired by The Wellness Community (TWC) in the US, which focuses on helping patients feel empowered and active in their treatment journey. Carewell’s programs aim to reduce the isolation, fear, and uncertainty that cancer patients often face, offering a safe space for counseling, wellness activities, and community support.
Carewell offers all its services free of charge to anyone affected by cancer. Whether it's emotional support, practical advice, or a shoulder to lean on, Carewell creates a space where no one has to face cancer alone. Their doors are open to patients, their families, and healthcare professionals alike.
As someone who has walked this path, I can tell you how much it means to be surrounded by love and understanding during such a difficult time. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Carewell. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of so many.
With love and gratitude,
Michelle Dayrit Soliven,
Second Generation Jeweler and Cancer Survivor
