A Legacy of Faith: From Sacred Rings to Sacred Medals

For generations, women in the Dayrit Family have been shaped by the values brought by Assumption education and the Religious of the Assumption (RA) sisters. Rooted in faith, compassion, service, and integrity, these principles have long guided the family through the years, becoming a part of their own legacy.

Among them is President Michelle Dayrit-Soliven, whose connection to the Assumption community remains strong through her involvement in the Community of Lay Assumption (CLAY). During her recovery from cancer, Michelle often found solace and peace in the Assumption chapel. In these moments of prayer and reflection, she met Sr. Isabel, an RA sister whose presence and unwavering faith became a source of comfort during a particularly challenging time of her life. Through their own conversations and shared prayers, her faith grew stronger, and what began as a simple encounter in the Assumption chapel blossomed into a lasting bond with Sr. Isabel and the community.

One of the most meaningful expressions of this enduring connection is a quiet tradition that has been faithfully carried on through the years. Through Michelle, Miladay has had the privilege of restoring and polishing the yellow gold rings worn by the RA sisters as they profess their final vows. Much like a wedding ring symbolizes lifelong commitment between spouses, these rings represent a sister’s lifelong commitment to God and her vocation.

When a sister prepares to take her final vows, a ring is selected and entrusted to Michelle. The Miladay Production House expertly restores, cleans and prepares the ring before it is presented to the sister who will wear it as a symbol of her lifelong devotion. 

Inspired by this enduring tradition of faith and service, Miladay continues its partnership with the Assumption community through a creation that carries the same spirit of devotion. In celebration of her Velada year, Miladay’s third generation and Michelle’s niece, Nikki Boncan-Buensalido, recently collaborated with Miladay and the Miladay Production House to create the Our Lady of the Assumption Medal Pendant.

The Our Lady of the Assumption Medal Pendant will officially be released this August, in time for the celebration of the Feast of the Assumption. More than commemorating a significant occasion, its release invites fellow Assumptionistas, old girls, families and friends of the community to carry with them a symbol of faith and service that have united generations.

Inspired by the Blessed Virgin Mary, the patroness of Assumption schools around the world, the medal celebrates a legacy of faith that has shaped generations of Assumptionistas. More than a beautiful keepsake, it is a heartfelt reminder to carry the Assumption spirit of kindness, humility and integrity wherever life leads.

Beyond this, the medal also carries a meaningful purpose. Every purchase of the Our Lady of the Assumption Medal Pendant supports the Assumption Mission Schools, extending the congregation’s mission of providing transformative education and faith formation to communities in need. This way, each medal becomes a small but meaningful contribution to the future of generations yet to come. 

As the Our Lady of the Assumption Medal Pendant is released this August, it represents a continuation of a legacy built on faith, nurtured by the RA sisters, and kept alive by generations of Assumptionistas.
