Illuminating Hope Through Our Lady of Ephesus
The House of Mother Mary in Ephesus, Turkey, was discovered in the early nineteenth century. Anne Catherine Emmerich, a German nun, had dreams and visions that led a French minister to the location. Despite never visiting Ephesus, the priest followed Anne's directions and discovered the home, fulfilling her prophecy.
Since 1896, the House of Mother Mary has served as a Catholic pilgrimage site. Popes Paul VI and Joseph II visited the place, and Pope Benedict XVI celebrated mass there on November 29, 2006. Since then, this location has become a hallowed spot, with miracles reported. Every August 15th, Catholic, Orthodox, and Muslim clergymen perform a liturgical ritual commemorating Mary's Assumption.
Inspired by the House of Mother Mary's rich and miraculous history, Miladay's Chief Operating Officer, Yvonne Dayrit-Romualdez was led to help The Hermitage Ephesus Foundation Inc. build a replica in the Philippines. Known as the Ephesus House of the Blessed Mother, this initiative in Alfonso, Cavite, whose mission is to bring comfort to those seeking hope through the embrace of a mother, our Mother.
